Charles City Panthers (Charles City, VA) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mathews Blue Devils (Mathews, VA), 24-20 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Charles City upgrades its record to 3-0 on the season. The Panthers travel to Appomattox Regional Governor's Arts & Tech (Petersburg, VA) to play the Dragons in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Dragons go into the bout with a record of 0-3.

Next up, the Blue Devils play the Colonial Beach Drifters (Colonial Beach, VA) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 11. Mathews will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record. The Drifters go into the bout with a 0-2 record after their 42-38 non-league loss to West Point (West Point, VA).
