In Monday's non-league match, the host South Lamar Stallions basketball squad scored a decisive 60-38 victory over the Gordo Green Wave.
With the victory, South Lamar advances its record to 3-0 on the year. The Stallions host Holy Spirit Catholic (Tuscaloosa, AL) to face the Saints in a 1A Area 9 contest on Tuesday, December 9. The Saints go into the contest with a record of 1-5. Holy Spirit Catholic lost 44-31 in their recent non-league contest against West Blocton (West Blocton, AL)
In their next game, the Green Wave battle the Lamar County Bulldogs (Vernon, AL) in a non-league contest, on Thursday, December 11. Gordo will attempt to better on its 0-1 season record. The Bulldogs go into the contest with a 8-4 record after their 61-49 non-league loss to Covenant Christian (Tuscumbia, AL).
