    • California High School Basketball - Highland can't hold off Mira Monte

    December 8, 2025: Bakersfield, CA 93306

    Mira Monte Lions (Bakersfield, CA) boosters left the game satisfied Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad nudge the host Highland Scots (Bakersfield, CA), 60-56 in a non-league match.

    With the victory, Mira Monte upgrades its record to 5-3 on the year. The Lions travel to Frontier (Bakersfield, CA) to face the Titans in a non-league match on Wednesday, December 10. The Titans enter the match with a record of 6-3. Frontier lost 63-47 in their recent non-league match against Kingsburg (Kingsburg, CA)

    In their next game, the Scots confront the Avenal Buccaneers (Avenal, CA) in a non-league contest, on Wednesday, December 10. Highland will attempt to better on its 4-4 season record. The Buccaneers go into the contest with a 0-6 record after their 54-28 non-league loss to Torres (Madera, CA).
