The Montabella Mustangs basketball team scored 59 points and held the visiting Ashley Bears to 14 in the Mustangs league triumph on Thursday.

The Mustangs now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Vestaburg for a Mid-State bout on Tuesday, December 14. Montabella will play a Wolverines squad coming off a 33-31 league loss to St. Charles (St. Charles, MI). The Wolverines record now stands at 0-1.

Next up, the Bears play the Merrill Vandals (Merrill, MI) in a Mid-State bout, on Tuesday, December 14. Ashley will attempt to upgrade on its 0-3 season record. The Vandals come into the bout with a 0-1 record after their 51-26 league loss to Carson City-Crystal (Carson City, MI).
