Whitman Vikings (Bethesda, MD) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Bethesda-Chevy Chase Barons (Bethesda, MD), 57-47 in a league bout.

With the win, Whitman upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Vikings host Paint Branch (Burtonsville, MD) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 1-0. Paint Branch won 74-56 in their recent league bout against Blair (Silver Spring, MD)

Next up, the Barons play the Poolesville Falcons (Poolesville, MD) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 16. Bethesda-Chevy Chase will attempt to upgrade on its 0-2 season record.
