Poolville Monarchs (Poolville, TX) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Slidell Greyhounds (Slidell, TX), 50-37 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Poolville upgrades its record to 8-5 on the season. The Monarchs host Era (Era, TX) to play the Hornets in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Hornets go into the bout with a record of 3-9. Era lost 87-35 in their recent non-league bout against Boyd (Boyd, TX)

Next up, the Greyhounds play the Windthorst Trojans (Windthorst, TX) in a non-league bout, on Friday, December 9. Slidell will attempt to upgrade on its 5-8 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 1-5 record after their 62-53 non-league loss to Saint Jo (Saint Jo, TX).
