North Carolina High School Basketball - Alexander Central edges Newton-Conover

The Alexander Central Cougars (Taylorsville, NC) basketball nipped the visiting Newton-Conover Red Devils (Newton, NC), 32-30 in Friday's non-league test.

The Cougars (5-0) will now prepare for their test against North Davidson (Lexington, NC). The Black Knights go into the non-league test with a 4-2 record. In their last test, North Davidson got by A.L. Brown (Kannapolis, NC), 49-47, in a non-league test.

The Red Devils now own a 5-1 record. They play next when they host Hibriten for a non-league test on Wednesday, December 14. Newton-Conover will encounter a Panthers squad coming off a 59-38 non-league win over Foard (Newton, NC). The Panthers record now stands at 5-0.
