The Chireno Owls basketball team scored 49 points and restricted the host San Augustine Wolves to 27 in the Owls non-league victory on Friday.

The Owls now sport a 16-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to San Augustine for a 2A Region III District 24 contest on Tuesday, January 3. Chireno will battle a Wolves team coming off a 36-33 non-league win over West Rusk (New London, TX). The Wolves record now stands at 3-2.

The Wolves (2-2) will now prepare for their contest against West Rusk (New London, TX). The Raiders come into the non-league contest with a 9-9 record. In their last contest, West Rusk was routed by Woden (Woden, TX), 26-25, in a non-league contest.
