Lenoir City Panthers (Lenoir City, TN) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Gibbs Eagles (Corryton, TN), 50-48 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Lenoir City upgrades its record to 7-1 on the season. The Panthers travel to Austin-East (Knoxville, TN) to clash with the Roadrunners in a 3A District 5 bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Roadrunners go into the bout with a record of 0-2.

Next up, the Eagles clash with the West Greene Buffaloes (Mosheim, TN) in a non-league bout, on Monday, December 12. Gibbs will attempt to upgrade on its 4-5 season record. The Buffaloes go into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 81-50 league loss to South Greene (Greeneville, TN).
