The Rice Memorial Green Knights basketball team scored 42 points and restricted the visiting Saranac Chiefs to 36 in the Green Knights non-league victory on Friday.

The Green Knights now sport a 1-0 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Northeastern Clinton for a non-league contest on Thursday, December 22.

The Chiefs (1-1) will now prepare for their contest against Plattsburgh (Plattsburgh, NY). The Hornets come into the Section 7 Champlain Valley I contest with a 2-1 record. In their last contest, Plattsburgh was nudged by Beekmantown (Plattsburgh, NY), 44-40, in a league contest.
