Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) fans left the game thrilled Friday as they witnessed their ice hockey team achieve victory over the visiting Prout Crusaders (Wakefield, RI), 4-0 in a league match.
The Sentinels (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Pilgrim (Warwick, RI). The Patriots enter the State Championship Division match with a 1-0 record. In their last match, Pilgrim held off Barrington (Barrington, RI), 9-5, in a non-league match.
