East Burke Cavaliers (Connelly Springs, NC) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Draughn Wildcats (Valdese, NC), 42-40 in a non-league bout.

With the win, East Burke upgrades its record to 2-2 on the season. The Cavaliers host Freedom (Morganton, NC) to play the Patriots in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 13. The Patriots go into the bout with a record of 2-4. Freedom won 73-65 in their recent non-league bout against Patton (Morganton, NC)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Owen Warhorses (Black Mountain, NC) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 13. Draughn will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Warhorses go into the bout with a 0-7 record after their 53-26 non-league loss to Thomas Jefferson (Mooresboro, NC).
