Harlingen Cardinals (Harlingen, TX) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Weslaco East Wildcats (Weslaco, TX), 51-34 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Harlingen upgrades its record to 18-3 on the season. The Cardinals travel to Vela (Edinburg, TX) to play the Sabercats in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Sabercats go into the bout with a record of 11-4. Vela won 64-47 in their recent non-league bout against Hanna (Brownsville, TX)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Donna Redskins (Donna, TX) in a 5A Region IV District 32 bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Weslaco East will attempt to upgrade on its 9-7 season record.
