Sonoraville Phoenix (Calhoun, GA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Model Blue Devils (Rome, GA), 50-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Sonoraville upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Phoenix travel to Cartersville (Cartersville, GA) to clash with the Hurricanes in a non-league bout on Tuesday, December 12. The Hurricanes go into the bout with a record of 0-4. Cartersville lost 69-63 in their recent non-league bout against Rockmart (Rockmart, GA)

Next up, the Blue Devils clash with the Haralson County Rebels (Tallapoosa, GA) in a AA Region 7 bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Model will attempt to upgrade on its 3-3 season record. The Rebels go into the bout with a 4-1 record after their 67-62 non-league win over Bowdon (Bowdon, GA).
