Virginia High School Basketball - Carlisle nips The Covenant

December 9, 2023: Charlottesville, VA 22902

Carlisle Chiefs (Axton, VA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host The Covenant Eagles (Charlottesville, VA), 53-47 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Carlisle upgrades its record to 5-4 on the season. The Chiefs host Winston-Salem Christian (Winston-Salem, NC) to play the Lions in a non-league bout on Monday, December 11. The Lions go into the bout with a record of 3-3. Winston-Salem Christian lost 54-49 in their recent non-league bout against Victory Christian Center (Charlotte, NC)

Next up, the Eagles play the New Covenant Gryphons (Lynchburg, VA) in a VISAA Blue Ridge bout, on Tuesday, December 12. The Covenant will attempt to upgrade on its 2-2 season record. The Gryphons go into the bout with a 7-0 record after their 59-23 non-league win over Fuqua (Farmville, VA).
