Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Model Blue Devils (Rome, GA) and the host Sonoraville Phoenix (Calhoun, GA), saw Model's basketball squad hold off Sonoraville by a tally of 51-45.
With the victory, Model improves its record to 7-1 on the campaign. The Blue Devils travel to Haralson County (Tallapoosa, GA) to confront the Rebels in a AA Region 7 challenge on Tuesday, December 12. The Rebels come into the challenge with a record of 3-2. Haralson County won 52-37 in their recent non-league challenge against Bowdon (Bowdon, GA)
Next up, the Phoenix confront the Cartersville Hurricanes (Cartersville, GA) in a non-league challenge, on Tuesday, December 12. Sonoraville will attempt to improve on its 0-8 season record. The Hurricanes come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 56-49 non-league loss to Creekview (Canton, GA).
