Smithfield Sentinels (Esmond, RI) fans left the game thrilled Saturday as they witnessed their ice hockey team achieve victory over the host Cumberland Clippers (Cumberland, RI), 7-3 in a league match.

The Sentinels (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Prout (Wakefield, RI). The Crusaders enter the State Championship Division match with a 4-0 record.

Next up, the Clippers encounter the Moses Brown Quakers (Providence, RI) in a State Championship Division match, on Friday, December 15. Cumberland will attempt to advance on its 0-1 season record. The Quakers enter the match with a 1-1 record after their 1-0 league win over Pilgrim (Warwick, RI).
