Hazen Highlanders (Renton, WA) backers were in high spirits Saturday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Mercer Island Islanders (Mercer Island, WA), 58-49 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Hazen upgrades its record to 3-1 on the season. The Highlanders travel to Kent-Meridian (Kent, WA) to clash with the Royals in a non-league bout on Saturday, December 9. The Royals go into the bout with a record of 1-2. Kent-Meridian won 48-32 in their recent non-league bout against Lindbergh (Renton, WA)

Next up, the Islanders clash with the Interlake Saints (Bellevue, WA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, December 12. Mercer Island will attempt to upgrade on its 1-2 season record. The Saints go into the bout with a 2-2 record after their 54-40 non-league win over Juanita (Kirkland, WA).
