In Monday's league contest, the visiting Washburn Castle Guards basketball team scored a big 80-56 triumph over the Lac Courte Oreilles Eagles.

The Castle Guards (2-1) will now prepare for their contest against Mellen (Mellen, WI). The Granite Diggers go into the Northern Lights contest with a 2-0 record. In their last contest, Mellen smashed South Shore (Port Wing, WI), 83-38, in a league contest.

In their next game, the Eagles confront the Butternut Midgets (Butternut, WI) in a Northern Lights contest, on Thursday, December 12. Lac Courte Oreilles will attempt to better on its 0-3 season record. The Midgets go into the contest with a 0-1 record after their 66-4 league loss to Hurley (Hurley, WI).
