Mississippi High School Basketball - Newton County overwhelms Union

The Newton County Cougars basketball team scored 67 points and limited the visiting Union Yellowjackets to 25 in the Cougars non-league triumph on Monday.
The Cougars now have a 6-1 record. They play next when they host Scott Central for a non-league game on Tuesday, December 10. Newton County will confront a Rebels team coming off a 72-71 non-league win over Forest (Forest, MS). The Rebels record now stands at 3-1.
With the loss, Union falls to 0-5 on the campaign. The Yellowjackets host Mize (Mize, MS) to confront the Bulldogs in a non-league game on Friday, December 13. The Bulldogs go into the game with a record of 4-5.
