The Deer Creek-Mackinaw Chiefs basketball team scored 39 points and restricted the host Tri-Valley Vikings to 23 in the Chiefs league victory on Tuesday.

The Chiefs now sport a 14-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fieldcrest for a Heart of Illinois match on Friday, February 4. Deer Creek-Mackinaw will meet a Knights team coming off a 52-50 league win over Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley (Gibson City, IL). The Knights record now stands at 5-13.

With the defeat, Tri-Valley moves to 11-12 on the year. The Vikings travel to Prairie Central (Fairbury, IL) to meet the Hawks in a non-league match on Thursday, February 3. The Hawks enter the match with a record of 19-5. Prairie Central won 47-42 in their recent league match against Illinois Valley Central (Chillicothe, IL)
