Monte Vista Monarchs (Spring Valley, CA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad bounce the host Santana Sultans (Santee, CA), 64-42 in a league battle.

The Monarchs now possess a 18-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Steele Canyon for a Grossmont - Valley battle on Wednesday, February 2. Monte Vista will confront a Cougars team coming off a 67-40 league win over El Cajon Valley (El Cajon, CA). The Cougars record now stands at 12-10.

The Sultans (3-23) will now prepare for their battle against Steele Canyon (Spring Valley, CA). The Cougars come into the Grossmont - Valley battle with a 13-10 record.
