Lathrop Malemutes (Fairbanks, AK) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting North Pole Patriots (North Pole, AK), 33-30 in a league bout.

With the victory, Lathrop upgrades its record to 2-5 on the campaign. The Malemutes travel to Bartlett (Anchorage, AK) to play the Golden Bears in a non-league bout on Thursday, February 10. The Golden Bears come into the bout with a record of 8-2.

Next up, the Patriots play the West Valley Wolf Pack (Fairbanks, AK) in a 4A Mid Alaska bout, on Tuesday, February 8. North Pole will attempt to upgrade on its 10-3 season record. The Wolf Pack come into the bout with a 3-5 record after their 52-23 non-league loss to Juneau-Douglas (Juneau, AK).
