Auburn Trojans (Auburn, IL) backers were pleased Wednesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Pleasant Plains Cardinals (Pleasant Plains, IL), 36-35 in a league bout.

With the victory, Auburn upgrades its record to 19-5 on the campaign. The Trojans travel to Illini Central (Mason City, IL) to play the Cougars in a Sangamo bout on Friday, February 3. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 9-14. Illini Central lost 64-45 in their recent league bout against Maroa-Forsyth (Maroa, IL)

Next up, the Cardinals play the Williamsville Bullets (Williamsville, IL) in a Sangamo bout, on Friday, February 3. Pleasant Plains will attempt to upgrade on its 18-5 season record. The Bullets come into the bout with a 18-4 record after their 57-32 league win over Athens (Athens, IL).
