The Hawthorne Bears (Hawthorne, NJ) basketball felled the visiting Eastern Christian Eagles (North Haledon, NJ), 53-45 in Wednesday's non-league test.
The Bears (10-9) will now prepare for their test against Glen Rock (Glen Rock, NJ). The Panthers go into the Bergen/Passaic - King test with a 8-5 record. In their last test, Glen Rock thwarted Butler (Butler, NJ), 43-25, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 9-8 record. They play next when they travel to North Arlington for a non-league test on Friday, February 3. Eastern Christian will encounter a Vikings squad coming off a 54-49 non-league win over Harrison (Harrison, NJ). The Vikings record now stands at 4-10.
