Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Grundy Golden Wave (Grundy, VA) and the visiting Eastside Spartans (Coeburn, VA), saw Grundy's basketball squad hold off Eastside by a count of 54-49.

With the victory, Grundy upgrades its record to 13-8 on the campaign. The Golden Wave host Holston (Damascus, VA) to play the Cavaliers in a non-league challenge on Friday, February 10. The Cavaliers come into the challenge with a record of 4-17.

Next up, the Spartans play the Thomas Walker Pioneers (Ewing, VA) in a Cumberland challenge, on Friday, February 10. Eastside will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record.
