The New London Whalers (New London, CT) basketball knocked off the host Fitch Falcons (Groton, CT), 60-52 in Wednesday's league test.
The Whalers (13-2) will now prepare for their test against St. Bernard (Uncasville, CT). The Saints go into the Eastern Connecticut I test with a 12-2 record. In their last test, St. Bernard notched a victory over Woodstock Academy (Woodstock, CT), 63-35, in a non-league test.
The Falcons now own a 10-3 record. They play next when they travel to Waterford for a non-league test on Friday, February 3. Fitch will encounter a Lancers squad coming off a 34-32 non-league loss to East Lyme (East Lyme, CT). The Lancers record now stands at 5-11.
