The Madawaska Owls basketball team scored 62 points and held the visiting Van Buren Crusaders to 30 in the Owls non-league triumph on Wednesday.

The Owls now sport a 9-6 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Fairfield for a C North contest on Thursday, February 2. Madawaska will battle a Tigers team coming off a 60-46 non-league win over Wisdom (St. Agatha, ME). The Tigers record now stands at 10-5.

The Crusaders (2-14) will now prepare for their contest against Southern Aroostook (Dyer Brook, ME). The Warriors enter the D North contest with a 15-0 record. In their last contest, Southern Aroostook triumphed over Hodgdon (Hodgdon, ME), 60-37, in a non-league contest.
