Pennsylvania High School Basketball - Midd-West thwarts Newport

The Midd-West Mustangs (Middleburg, PA) basketball knocked off the visiting Newport Buffaloes (Newport, PA), 54-43 in Wednesday's non-league test.

The Mustangs (3-14) will now prepare for their test against Central Columbia (Bloomsburg, PA). The Bluejays go into the Heartland I test with a 7-11 record. In their last test, Central Columbia went down by Danville (Danville, PA), 57-53, in a non-league test.

The Buffaloes now own a 6-11 record. They play next when they travel to Greenwood for a Tri-Valley test on Thursday, February 2. Newport will encounter a Wildcats squad coming off a 62-55 league win over East Juniata (McAlisterville, PA). The Wildcats record now stands at 16-1.
