Searsport Vikings (Searsport, ME) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Sumner Tigers (East Sullivan, ME), 47-31 in a league bout.

With the win, Searsport upgrades its record to 7-11 on the season. The Vikings host Islesboro Central (Islesboro, ME) to clash with the Eagles in a non-league bout on Saturday, February 4. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 4-8. Islesboro Central won 49-30 in their recent non-league bout against Pine Tree Academy (Freeport, ME)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Mattanawcook Lynx (Lincoln, ME) in a C North bout, on Tuesday, February 7. Sumner will attempt to upgrade on its 11-5 season record.
