Buckley Bears (Buckley, MI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Leland Comets (Leland, MI), 62-50 in a league bout.

With the win, Buckley upgrades its record to 10-7 on the season. The Bears travel to Kingsley (Kingsley, MI) to play the Stags in a Northwest bout on Tuesday, February 6. The Stags go into the bout with a record of 7-9. Kingsley won 50-25 in their recent league bout against Suttons Bay (Suttons Bay, MI)

Next up, the Comets play the Glen Lake Lakers (Maple City, MI) in a Northwest bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Leland will attempt to upgrade on its 3-12 season record. The Lakers go into the bout with a 11-3 record after their 57-30 league win over Frankfort (Frankfort, MI).
