Calais Blue Devils (Calais, ME) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Sumner Tigers (East Sullivan, ME), 73-53 in a league bout.

With the win, Calais upgrades its record to 13-3 on the season. The Blue Devils travel to Lee Academy (Lee, ME) to clash with the Pandas in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Pandas go into the bout with a record of 4-12. Lee Academy lost 55-52 in their recent non-league bout against Penobscot Valley (Howland, ME)

Next up, the Tigers clash with the Searsport Vikings (Searsport, ME) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Sumner will attempt to upgrade on its 6-11 season record. The Vikings go into the bout with a 7-10 record after their 63-59 non-league win over Piscataquis (Guilford, ME).
