Chicago Academy Cougars (Chicago, IL) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Foreman Hornets (Chicago, IL), 54-47 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Chicago Academy upgrades its record to 7-10 on the campaign. The Cougars travel to Kelvyn Park (Chicago, IL) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Panthers come into the bout with a record of 13-3. Kelvyn Park lost 44-35 in their recent non-league bout against Horizon Science Academy-Southwest (Chicago, IL)

Next up, the Hornets play the Julian Jaguars (Chicago, IL) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. Foreman will attempt to upgrade on its 11-11 season record. The Jaguars come into the bout with a 20-4 record after their 70-45 non-league win over Alcott (Chicago, IL).
