The St. Joseph Central Flyers (Ironton, OH) basketball nipped the visiting Clay Panthers (Portsmouth, OH), 68-64 in Thursday's league test.

The Flyers (6-10) will now prepare for their test against East (Sciotoville, OH). The Tartans go into the Southern Ohio I test with a 5-8 record. In their last test, East got by Rose Hill Christian (Ashland, KY), 50-46, in a non-league test.

The Panthers now own a 2-14 record. They play next when they host Green for a Southern Ohio I test on Friday, February 2. Clay will encounter a Bobcats squad coming off a 44-34 non-league loss to Symmes Valley (Willow Wood, OH). The Bobcats record now stands at 4-11.
