The Cliff Cowboys/Cowgirls (Cliff, NM) basketball knocked off the visiting Mesilla Valley Christian School SonBlazers (Las Cruces, NM), 55-44 in Thursday's league test.

The Cowboys/Cowgirls (16-1) will now prepare for their test against Magdalena (Magdalena, NM). The Steers go into the A District 2 test with a 18-1 record. In their last test, Magdalena notched a victory over Animas (Animas, NM), 81-34, in a league test.

The SonBlazers now own a 9-7 record. They play next when they travel to Reserve for a A District 2 test on Saturday, February 3. Mesilla Valley Christian School will encounter a Mountaineers squad coming off a 53-39 league loss to Quemado (Quemado, NM). The Mountaineers record now stands at 3-15.
