In Thursday's league outing, the Poyen Indians (Poyen, AR) basketball squad nipped the host Cutter-Morning Star Eagles (Hot Springs National Park, AR), by a margin of 56-51.

The Indians (14-9) will now prepare for their outing against St. Joseph (Conway, AR). The Bulldogs go into the 2A Region 5 outing with a 8-17 record. In their last outing, St. Joseph was tipped by Bigelow (Bigelow, AR), 60-40, in a league outing.

The Eagles now own a 22-4 record. They play next when they travel to Murfreesboro for a non-league outing on Friday, February 2. Cutter-Morning Star will clash with a Rattlers squad coming off a 69-24 non-league win over Mount Ida (Mount Ida, AR). The Rattlers record now stands at 16-6.
