Ponaganset Chieftains (North Scituate, RI) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Exeter-West Greenwich Scarlet Knights (West Greenwich, RI), 49-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Ponaganset upgrades its record to 8-9 on the season. The Chieftains host Scituate (North Scituate, RI) to play the Spartans in a Division 3 bout on Wednesday, February 7. The Spartans go into the bout with a record of 2-14. Scituate lost 55-37 in their recent league bout against Exeter-West Greenwich (West Greenwich, RI)

Next up, the Scarlet Knights play the Scituate Spartans (North Scituate, RI) in a Division 3 bout, on Saturday, February 3. Exeter-West Greenwich will attempt to upgrade on its 4-12 season record. The Spartans go into the bout with a 2-13 record after their 65-35 league win over Achievement First Providence (Providence, RI).
