In Thursday's non-league outing, the Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA) basketball squad nipped the visiting Freeman Mavericks (Richmond, VA), by a margin of 51-50.
The Lions (6-13) will now prepare for their outing against Orange County (Orange, VA). The Fighting Hornets go into the Jefferson outing with a 12-9 record. In their last outing, Orange County got by Goochland (Goochland, VA), 77-53, in a league outing.
The Mavericks now own a 7-10 record. They play next when they host J.R. Tucker for a Colonial outing on Friday, February 2. Freeman will encounter a Tigers squad coming off a 77-65 non-league loss to Carver College and Career Academy (Chester, VA). The Tigers record now stands at 6-11.
