The Minnesota Valley Lutheran Chargers basketball team scored 87 points and held the visiting Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop Thunderbirds to 54 in the Chargers non-league triumph on Thursday.

The Chargers now sport a 15-5 record. They put it on the line next when they host St. Mary's for a A Section 2 contest on Tuesday, February 6. Minnesota Valley Lutheran will play a Knights squad coming off a 67-55 non-league loss to Mountain Lake/Comfrey (Mountain Lake, MN). The Knights record now stands at 15-6.

Next up, the Thunderbirds play the Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart Mustangs (Hector, MN) in a A Section 2 bout, on Tuesday, February 6. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop will attempt to upgrade on its 11-9 season record.
