Griggs County Central/Midkota Cougars (Cooperstown, ND) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Larimore Polar Bears (Larimore, ND), 50-44 in a league bout.

With the victory, Griggs County Central/Midkota upgrades its record to 7-8 on the campaign. The Cougars host Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter (Napoleon, ND) to play the Imperials in a non-league bout on Monday, February 5. The Imperials come into the bout with a record of 5-11. Napoleon/Gackle-Streeter lost 54-51 in their recent league bout against South Border co-op [Wishek/Ashley] (Wishek, ND)

Next up, the Polar Bears play the Park River/Fordville-Lankin Aggies (Park River, ND) in a non-league bout, on Monday, February 5. Larimore will attempt to upgrade on its 8-7 season record. The Aggies come into the bout with a 3-13 record after their 64-54 league win over St. John (St. John, ND).
