Washougal Panthers (Washougal, WA) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Hockinson Hawks (Brush Prairie, WA), 73-65 in a league bout.

With the win, Washougal upgrades its record to 7-12 on the season. The Panthers travel to Ridgefield (Ridgefield, WA) to play the Spudders in a 2A Greater St. Helens bout on Saturday, February 3. The Spudders go into the bout with a record of 13-6. Ridgefield won 72-63 in their recent league bout against Woodland (Woodland, WA)

Next up, the Hawks play the Columbia River Rapids (Vancouver, WA) in a 2A Greater St. Helens bout, on Monday, February 5. Hockinson will attempt to upgrade on its 10-9 season record. The Rapids go into the bout with a 14-5 record after their 75-63 league loss to Mark Morris (Longview, WA).
