James Monroe Yellow Jackets (Fredericksburg, VA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host King George Foxes (King George, VA), 74-65 in a league bout.

With the victory, James Monroe upgrades its record to 15-4 on the campaign. The Yellow Jackets host Courtland (Spotsylvania, VA) to play the Cougars in a Battlefield bout on Friday, February 2. The Cougars come into the bout with a record of 14-5. Courtland won 50-44 in their recent non-league bout against Mountain View (Stafford, VA)

Next up, the Foxes play the Spotsylvania Knights (Spotsylvania, VA) in a Battlefield bout, on Friday, February 2. King George will attempt to upgrade on its 3-15 season record. The Knights come into the bout with a 2-14 record after their 71-25 league loss to Eastern View (Culpeper, VA).
