Marvell Mustangs (Marvell, AR) backers were in high spirits Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Midland Mustangs (Pleasant Plains, AR), 76-57 in a league bout.

With the win, Marvell upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Mustangs travel to Augusta (Augusta, AR) to play the Red Devils in a 1A Region 5 bout on Friday, February 2. The Red Devils go into the bout with a record of 15-7. Augusta won 60-25 in their recent league bout against Scott Charter (Scott, AR)

Next up, the Mustangs play the White County Central Bears (Judsonia, AR) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. Midland will attempt to upgrade on its 2-16 season record. The Bears go into the bout with a 12-19 record after their 70-41 non-league win over Midland (Pleasant Plains, AR).
