The Pope John Paul II (Royersford, PA) basketball nipped the visiting Upper Merion Area Vikings (King of Prussia, PA), 63-56 in Thursday's league test.
The (10-10) will now prepare for their test against Holy Ghost Prep (Bensalem, PA). The Firebirds go into the non-league test with a 9-10 record. In their last test, Holy Ghost Prep was tipped by Radnor (Radnor, PA), 70-64, in a non-league test.
The Vikings now own a 7-12 record. They play next when they host Bishop Shanahan for a non-league test on Saturday, February 3.
