Portola Bulldogs (Irvine, CA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting University Trojans (Irvine, CA), 93-89 in a non-league bout.

With the victory, Portola upgrades its record to 8-19 on the campaign. The Bulldogs travel to Irvine (Irvine, CA) to play the Vaqueros in a Pacific Coast bout on Friday, February 2. The Vaqueros come into the bout with a record of 14-13. Irvine won 61-47 in their recent league bout against Laguna Hills (Laguna Hills, CA)

Next up, the Trojans play the Laguna Hills Hawks (Laguna Hills, CA) in a non-league bout, on Friday, February 2. University will attempt to upgrade on its 7-19 season record. The Hawks come into the bout with a 1-24 record after their 61-47 league loss to Irvine (Irvine, CA).
