The William Campbell Generals (Naruna, VA) basketball nipped the host Staunton River Golden Eagles (Moneta, VA), 54-48 in Thursday's non-league contest.

The Generals now sport a 8-7 record. They put it on the line next when they host Nelson County for a Dogwood contest on Monday, February 5. William Campbell will battle a Governors team coming off a 66-54 league win over Dan River (Ringgold, VA). The Governors record now stands at 7-9.

The Golden Eagles (7-12) will now prepare for their contest against William Byrd (Vinton, VA). The Terriers go into the Blue Ridge bout with a 11-8 record. In their last bout, William Byrd held off Franklin County (Rocky Mount, VA), 60-55, in a league bout.
