Union Knights (La Porte City, IA) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Wapsie Valley Warriors (Fairbank, IA), 77-66 in a league bout.

With the victory, Union upgrades its record to 11-7 on the campaign. The Knights host Aplington-Parkersburg (Parkersburg, IA) to play the Falcons in a non-league bout on Friday, February 2. The Falcons come into the bout with a record of 12-4. Aplington-Parkersburg won 81-68 in their recent league bout against Denver (Denver, IA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Hudson Pirates (Hudson, IA) in a North Iowa Cedar - East bout, on Friday, February 2. Wapsie Valley will attempt to upgrade on its 2-15 season record. The Pirates come into the bout with a 17-1 record after their 76-40 league win over Columbus (Waterloo, IA).
