Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Laurel Spartans (Laurel, MD) and the host Bladensburg Mustangs (Bladensburg, MD), saw Laurel's basketball squad overcome Bladensburg by a tally of 38-24.

With the victory, Laurel improves its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Bowie (Bowie, MD) to confront the Bulldogs in a Prince George's County 4A challenge on Monday, February 5. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a record of 15-2. Bowie won 38-21 in their recent league challenge against Eleanor Roosevelt (Greenbelt, MD)

Next up, the Mustangs confront the Parkdale Panthers (Riverdale, MD) in a Prince George's County 4A challenge, on Tuesday, February 6. Bladensburg will attempt to improve on its 2-12 season record. The Panthers come into the challenge with a 10-5 record after their 67-8 league win over High Point (Beltsville, MD).
