Philomath Warriors (Philomath, OR) backers were pleased Thursday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Cascade Cougars (Turner, OR), 45-41 in a league bout.

With the victory, Philomath upgrades its record to 14-3 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Newport (Newport, OR) to play the Cubs in a 4A Oregon West bout on Monday, February 5. The Cubs come into the bout with a record of 3-14. Newport lost 34-30 in their recent league bout against North Marion (Aurora, OR)

Next up, the Cougars play the Sweet Home Huskies (Sweet Home, OR) in a 4A Oregon West bout, on Monday, February 5. Cascade will attempt to upgrade on its 12-6 season record. The Huskies come into the bout with a 1-14 record after their 63-12 league loss to Stayton (Stayton, OR).
