North Carolina High School Basketball - East Columbus overwhelms Lakewood

Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) and the host Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC), saw East Columbus's basketball squad wallop Lakewood by a tally of 52-22.
With the victory, East Columbus improves its record to 15-1 on the campaign. The Gators travel to South Columbus (Tabor City, NC) to confront the Stallions in a 1A/2A Waccamaw challenge on Friday, February 2. The Stallions come into the challenge with a record of 3-16. South Columbus lost 52-49 in their recent league challenge against Pender (Burgaw, NC)
Next up, the Leopards confront the Union Spartans (Rose Hill, NC) in a 1A Carolina challenge, on Friday, February 2. Lakewood will attempt to improve on its 7-8 season record. The Spartans come into the challenge with a 12-4 record after their 48-34 league win over Neuse Charter (Smithfield, NC).
